Two Days Grant Writing Training for Youth Leaders in Mwanza

Grant writing is the process of completing applications for financial grants, which are non-repayable funds, provided by

organizations such as government departments, corporations, and philanthropic foundations

This training for grant writing workshop was designed for leaders of youth-led community organizations including organizations

with youthdisabilities  in Mwanza.

Grant writing training consist of didactic sessions presented over a 2 days’ time-period and the intent of these trainings was to

provide a broad overview on the grant writing process. The topics covered in this training were fundamentals of good grant

writing, general preparation of the grant application (i.e., specific aims, research design, budgets, analysis of reviews and

strategies for rebuttal and re-application), roles and responsibilities of the Program Officer and of the Administrator, and an

overview about the various available funding mechanisms.
