Young Lawyers Foundation coordinated 1st African Youth Conference Energy and Climate Change on 20th - 21st August ,2015 ,which brought together more than 17 different nationalities in Kunduchi Beach Hotel - Dar es Salaam under the theme Inclusion of Youth Voice in COP21 and Beyond for Sustainable Development. The conference resulted to many youth related initiatives in climate change and energy sector across the region and alert to the governments and other stakeholders on youth innovation support and engagement.

2ND AFRICAN YOUTH CONFERENCE ON ENERGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE

 INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

Young Lawyers Foundation coordinated 1st Africa youth conference Energy and Climate Change in 2015, which brought together more than 17 different nationalities in Dare s salaam under the theme Inclusion of Youth Voice in COP21 and Beyond for Sustainable Development. The conference resulted in many youth related initiatives in climate change and energy sector across the region and alert to the governments and other stakeholders on youth innovation support and engagement. Last year’s conference resolutions were shared with several stakeholders including the governments, United Nations and presented during the conference of youth COY 11 in Paris.

Background information:

It wasn’t too many years ago when the scientific evidence shows the climate change impacts due to uncontrolled human activities and on other hand the world has reported to have a global warming in its different natural features, but also the degradation activity brought by the population which needs to sustain their life like tree cutting for burning charcoal and fire wood, this was among the many reasons which make us to be interested not only to show you people the natural features we have but also to collaborate in preventing them from pollution and degradation, through planting the trees along the Lake Victoria.

Bonnie Walters believes that education is the most important thing a person can do to make their life better. She was born in America in the state of California and moved to Alaska when she was 5 years old. Her mother was a school teacher so education was always a very important part of her life. Her biggest interest in school was science and after graduating from high school she went to college at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned a degree in Biology.
